Occasionally on this blog, I will stray into non football subjects and today is one of those times. The news yesterday, that Rob Burrow has sadly passed away from that horrible, horrible condition, Motor Neuron Disease has hit the UK sporting world - and wider society - really hard.
As the clock ticket inexorably towards 90mins and the tantalising prospect of extra time being required to settle an intriguing, if not technically brilliant, Scottish Gas Scottish Cup final, 2 of Celtic's substitutes combined to produce the single goal, that won the game. Over the years Celtic have been the masters of the late winner and none more so than in Scottish Cup finals where 5 of their last 16 winning goals have come after the 80th minute.
The news today that Neil Lennon has been confirmed as the new manager of Rapid Bucharest is excellent news for the affable Northern Irishman. This is his second foray into management away from British shores and a huge amount of credit needs to go to him for being willing to take the plunge again, far afield, following his short and eventful spell in Cyprus.
So, the league season is finally over and Celtic have been crowned Premiership champions for the 54th time and 12th in 13 years. For the first post of this new blog, I thought we would look over what has happened this season, its ebbs and flows and analyse how we got here.
